Should you give money to beggars or just give them food?

Today, my generosity for people in the state of begging depends on my mood, my capacity to offer something, and what they look like. Sometimes, I don’t feel like giving because the beggar doesn’t look like someone who is in real need. Often times, they don’t look helpless at all. They look like opportunists lurking around people who have something to spare.

Parasites

When I was in high school, there was this beggar at a short tunnel pass just a few steps outside the school’s main gates. I normally use that bypass because it’s obviously convenient.

Watching Netflix cartoons made me realize something very important!

My kids and I were watching a cartoon show in Netflix called, “True”. It’s about a girl and her best friend cat who both always try to help out citizens of their kingdom. I normally watch with my kids for two things:

  1. Watch over my kids and make sure what they’re watching is kid-friendly
  2. To relate with my kids and play along when they start singing cartoon songs or role-play with iconic cartoon scripts and their taglines

Starship Troopers: Best Sci-fi movie of my childhood

Warning: this isn’t a movie review!


I was lying on my bed one night and trying to sleep, when my brain started acting up and won’t let me. So I started recalling my deepest memories of the past for anything interesting. I asked myself, what’s the best sci-fi movie of my childhood?

The first thing that popped out of my mind was Starship Troopers. I tried to think of something else, but it was hard to populate my mind and enumerate the good old movies I’ve seen. I actually thought of two more, but let’s talk about the first one.

Know your coffee: brewed coffee or brood coffee

Woah, woah, woah! Hang in there Joe!

When you say, “One brewed coffee, please?” Your barista will start to grind some coffee beans, heat up some water, put the ground coffee in a filter and start pouring hot water on it to start the brewing process.
