The mental health balance: are you crazy or just brilliant?

I have this friend who posted about mental health awareness. She mentioned she has a mental disorder in which she cannot process stress the way other people would seamlessly do. She breaks down in panic and have anxiety attacks whenever faced with triggering events — like a car accident in the middle of a busy street.

She called-out people who would claim that this is just a so-called “sakit mayaman”. No! This is mental disorder, people! And mental health is real! “Hindi ako baliw”, she said. And then she began to mention her incapacity to handle stress.

What should we learn from COVID-19 Pandemic

Preparedness

Were you prepared when COVID-19 started? You were probably not, at least for the specific disease. But you could have prepared for a pandemic like this if you didn’t stick to just one plan.

When people pile up beside a no loading and unloading zone sign, and PUVs still stop to pick up and drop off passengers there anyway… When footbridges are too mainstream so people prefer patintero on the road… And the list goes on…

In My Opinion
The view along the riverside in Hulo, Mandaluyong

I once rented a condo unit near the pasig river in Mandaluyong City. The residents beside our building is used to throwing used diapers, inside a plastic bag, on the river – and God knows what other trash they throw there. It’s the same river where people go fishing. The river walls have big painted signs asking people to keep the river clean, and yet I personally witnessed a man threw a diaper to the river like a discuss thrower. Is it truly the government or the citizens? I rest my case.

My favorite ulam, a Bopis urban legend

Dati talaga paborito ko ang bopis. Noong una ko itong matikman ay sarap na sarap ako dito. Masarsa, malinamnam, kapanapanabik, at lubhang kaaya-aya ang taglay nitong bango.

Photo not mine. An edited version of someone’s photo online. Thank you and credits to you if you recognize that this is yours.
